Fraud Prevention Policy

Effective Date: December 13, 2025

Applies To: All users of CommercialTruckSales.com ("CTS")

CommercialTruckSales.com is a business-to-business marketplace that connects commercial truck buyers and sellers through advertising, listings, and lead-generation tools. CTS does not participate in transactions, does not handle payments, and does not verify or certify vehicles or counterparties.

Because CTS operates as a neutral platform, users must exercise independent judgment and diligence when engaging with other parties.

1. Our Role and Limitations

CTS operates solely as a listing and discovery platform for commercial vehicles.

CTS:

  • Does not own, buy, sell, lease, finance, or broker vehicles
  • Does not participate in negotiations or transactions
  • Does not offer escrow, inspection, shipping, warranty, or buyer-protection services
  • Does not direct users how or where to send funds
  • Does not verify pricing, condition, ownership, or availability of listed vehicles

All listing content, representations, and communications originate solely from the listing party.

2. Common Fraud Risk Indicators

Users should proceed with caution if any of the following occur:

  • Pricing that is materially below market without reasonable explanation
  • Requests to complete transactions outside customary commercial practices
  • Pressure to act quickly or avoid standard due diligence
  • Requests to wire funds, send cryptocurrency, or pay third parties
  • Overpayment schemes followed by refund requests
  • Use of unverifiable escrow or shipping services
  • Requests for sensitive information unrelated to a legitimate transaction

If a transaction feels irregular, users should pause and independently verify all facts.

3. Buyer Safety Guidance

Buyers should:

  • Independently verify the seller’s identity, business presence, and authority
  • Inspect vehicles in person or through a reputable third-party inspection service
  • Confirm title status and lien information before payment
  • Use secure, traceable commercial payment methods
  • Avoid relying solely on photographs or written descriptions
  • Retain written documentation of all terms

CTS recommends in-person verification whenever feasible.

4. Seller Safety Guidance

Sellers should:

  • Verify buyer identity and business credentials
  • Confirm funds have fully cleared before transferring title or possession
  • Decline requests involving third-party payment routing
  • Be cautious of buyers unwilling to inspect vehicles
  • Avoid links requesting VIN reports or payment credentials

CTS will never request sellers’ banking credentials, passwords, or verification codes.

5. Email, Messaging, and Impersonation Risks

Fraud attempts may involve emails, texts, or calls impersonating CTS or affiliated parties.

CTS will:

  • Never request passwords or one-time authentication codes
  • Never ask users to send payments
  • Never represent itself as a transaction intermediary

Users should report suspected impersonation immediately.

6. Reporting Suspicious Activity

If you believe fraud or attempted fraud has occurred:

  • Notify CTS at [fraud@commercialtrucksales.com]
  • Preserve all communications and transaction records
  • Report incidents to appropriate authorities, including the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) at www.ic3.gov

CTS may cooperate with lawful investigations but does not resolve disputes between users.

7. User Responsibility

By using CTS, users acknowledge that:

  • Transactions occur solely between independent parties
  • CTS does not assume responsibility for outcomes
  • Each party bears responsibility for its own diligence and risk assessment
